Hola Amigos,
Hey how's everyone doing? Another semester @ YDEV - Hoorayyyy 😍😃
Super excited to be part of this amazing journey...
Quick self-intro:
My family
* MIO - Who am I:
I work in a pediatric dept. as a Director of Programs Coordination. My work is composed of connect/bridging both Hasbro Children's Hospital with statewide school departments to bring our educational, research and intervention programs into the educational system and allow our families, students and staff to become educated on a system wide health related / chronic disease that affect the majority of our students and their families "Asthma". A respiratory chronic disease that affects a human being respiratory system, their airways but mainly their lungs. I am bless to work with a group of multidisciplinary group which helps us provide these various manageable resources to the community. I've been in this field of health for over 20+ years and is very close and dear to my heart because of my own family who have this chronic disease and as a parent I've lived the concerns and day to day struggles but also the pleasure of witnessing how learning to be in control and adherence makes a great deal of differences.
Given my experience of working with children's and families I've decided to pursue the field of YDEV because working directly within the academic field of education you can witness the progress and fruit of your labor develop. My inclination to focus within this area is with the best intention and that is; "to devote the time and attention in education" which is currently lacking devoted folks to make a difference due to the short staffing since post covid that has created an overwhelming amount of assistance within the undeserved areas. Children are the future and adults are who can assist with guidance and proper discipline.
Research and Evaluation
* Very complex part of education yet completely important methodology to identify findings, loopholes, data and rationality to compose reports and other outcomes...
As a professional you wonder am I'm doing the proper analytical plan of data collection, either via survey, and/or any means that would connect with the community you are serving.
- What and how can i make a difference in a classroom or rather in one child / family?
- Am I'm to old to continue pursuing this field?
- Why aren't educators pay higher income if they are the second educators of our children?
- While collecting data; why are we lacking some environmental questions that may affect our students and staff?
- Why are some school department providing various PVD trainings and not circulating and or mandating for all school districts to serve their students and staff with the same resources and trainings.
- Providence is the bigger district in RI yet is the most vulnerable district to be provided with all the proper tools necessary. Why have family centers? Is it for school safety, budgetary concerns, or because the state does not give a dam about parent involvement.
- Why do you have to be selected in order to be part of a SIT, SDWC(school district wide committee) and other internal school committees?
- By becoming a YDEV Masters graduate would I be able to help within the system?
- where can I obtain the proper tools to serve families, students and schools?
- Is there a way for me to create a non-profit and serve my community?
- Should I re-direct myself from the current field I'm in and be solely focus on education.
- Would I be able to survive with the income of an educator?
- I want to also take time to explore the world - but how can I???
- How will I be able to pay this loan and my children college loans?
- Why is honesty the best policy?
- Not sure why was this assignment 20?'s
- Does YDEV provides employment resources post graduation.
- Will this class explain in details how education uses research and evaluation to provide outcomes?
- Eager to know and learn more about the capstone project - is this a good thing? or am I to ahead of myself.
- What is the level of presentation we need to do in this class?
